Would I ever buy a home in this market? NO! I was taught better. Loved looking online at homes for sale for years. Loved where I lived, nothing was worth it to go through all the work of moving and buying in this market. But, I kept seeing a house on-line. I started to call it the weird house in my mind because of what I saw in the pictures. Still not sold. Weird. Swipe! Then, one day the pictures of the weird house were different and there was a whole new write up about it. I read and re-read and then told my husband and daughter I want this house. This house has everything I want and more. A lot of that could not be seen in pictures. I was more interested in how it was built than the paint colors. But, the new pictures showed it was beautiful also. My husband and I could see the quality and beauty of the cabinets and flooring. The writer told the whole story. So much to this house. My daughter was a little bit shocked, but after reading it for herself, said to call the Realtor (Charisse). I told her she would probably just tell me to come to the open house the next day. But, my daughter insisted. Within a little over an hour we were walking through the house. Charisse gave us a very extensive tour with many details and if she didn't know the answer to our questions, she found it out while we were there. Charrise made it such a comfortable situation for all of us. The next day many of my older children and their families came and toured the house. When the open house was over I wanted to sit down and discuss buying the home with Charisse. I was about to boot my kids out, when my twenty-something son asked if he could stay and learn. Charisse was more than welcome to the idea and spent several hours talking to all of us about buying and selling in this market and this home and other homes. My kids all learned a lot from her. That time in the house with Charisse was so appreciated. It was like we had enough time to try on the house. We never felt rushed or like any question was too much. In fact, that night my son and his wife started working with Charisse to find them a home also. Then the real work started to make this happen. A roadblock or two here and there and Charisse would walk us calmly through it. She knew who could help us and she knew people like her who were willing to put in the time now to get it done. 25 days later we owned the house. Unheard of in this market and not to mention it was a big holiday week also!! I have many friends who talk of realtors at this point and they are gone and out of sight. Not Charisse, she continued to help make moving in as painless as possible. Any questions I have I give her a call and she is so helpful and doesn't rush me. Sometimes I call her to just say, “Hi” and chat. After settling down a bit in the new home I finally knew it was time to sell the old house. Many memories in that home. Back in the day I would have put it up for sale by the owner. But, in this market and I will admit we were a little tired from all the moving. So I called Charisse and she got busy. P.s. Our son was able to close the same day we were with Charisse’s help :-) After talking to another good friend who recently bought a home. I said I felt like in this market you have to break every rule (rules we were taught about finances years ago) in the book to buy and sell a home. He made a very good point, we didn't break the rules “we adapted to this market”. This market is very adaptable if you have someone who is as hard working and knowledgeable and kind as Charisse Walker.
